Wick Trimming

Posted by Phillip Brown on

So what can you do if your candle starts smoking?  Well, a lot of times the smoking is due to the wick being too long which causes a bigger flame and too much heat build-up in the jar.  You know that the wick should be trimmed to 1/4", but how do you trim it down inside the jar?  We recommend investing in a wick trimmer.  Wick trimmers are similar to scissors, but with a flat head that is angled similar to a dental tool.  That way, you can reach down inside the jar and trim the wick to the desired height.  Any brand will do.  Just Google "wick trimmer" and you will get a host of items to choose from.
